Accelerated Program
You have the power to make it happen. You can have
a life free from alcohol.
Assisted Recovery has a proven history in treating individuals suffering
from alcohol dependence who come to us from throughout the United States and
beyond. We created the program in recognition of the difficulty in accessing
a state-of-the-art evidence-based treatment program.
Researching various program protocols quickly confirms that the vast majority
of treatment in the United States is based on the Minnesota or 12-Step model.
Assisted Recovery is proud to be the first in the nation to offer the evidence-based
Pennsylvania Model of Recovery.
The Accelerated two-week program is crafted to meet the needs of busy individuals living outside of the metropolitan Phoenix area. While we recommend two weeks, the program can be completed in one week. The key to the success of this program is the utilization of effective medications, which within fifteen minutes of ingestion, often suppress the intense thought process or craving to drink alcohol. This levels the playing field, allowing the individual to be successful in a less restrictive environment.
Immediately upon arrival in Phoenix, a new Accelerated Client will complete the intake process and is seen by our Medical Director, Dr. Sam Walker, NMD. Medication is initiated immediately, providing relief from cravings that have burdened the individual for many years.

“It was like having a monkey
that has been on my back
for years, clawing harder
and harder, simply jump off.”

Family and friends
are in recovery also. Assisted Recovery recognizes
that the people closest to you are also in recovery. As such, we encourage
all of our clients to consider including the people in their lives to be involved
in the process of recovery.
A typical day
includes a two-hour, one-on-one session, a group meeting and reasonable amount
of homework. Group sessions last approximately ninety minutes. Our goal, utilizing
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is to assist individuals
in not only eliminating alcohol dependence from their lives, but to be happy
that they did. To this end, Assisted Recovery utilizes cognitive behavioral
therapy tools, for example doing an ABC to deal with a trigger, as developed
by Dr. Albert Ellis, PhD
Upon return home, follow-up is provided via our Online Program. This includes a twice a week live chat session with an Assisted Recovery counselor. Accelerated clients are also encouraged to utilize the toll-free number for additional support as needed.

We urge all our out of area Accelerated Clients to
view their time with Assisted Recovery as more of a “working vacation”
rather than a trip to an IRS office.
Phoenix is
the fifth largest city in the United States, offering a wealth of cultural
and entertainment venues ranging from the world renowned Heard Museum to major
league sporting events.
Sunday is an open day which an individual can relax and reflect, or go exploring. Centrally located, Phoenix is the hub of this vibrant and beautiful state. To the north is the high country with towering pines and soothing breezes. The Grand Canyon, with unsurpassed natural splendor is one hour north of Flagstaff, which is the home of the world famous Lowell Observatory. To the east is located Meteor Crater and the Petrified Forest, while to the west there is the Colorado River recreation areas. Or you can head south to Tucson and the historic “Old Pueblo. One-hour further south is exotic Old Mexico.
Accommodations:
Accelerated Clients generally check in to an area extended
stay hotel. There are several options within fifteen minutes of the clinic,
and we are happy to make recommendations. A client with local ties can of
course stay with family or friends while in treatment. Our recommendations

studio at Extended
Stay America, to the very comfortable resort of the Hilton
at Point at Tapatio Cliff, to the opulent Phoenician Resort. Extended
Stay of America offers a full kitchen, including utensils, cable television

environment, while the Phoenician defines an upscale experience. A client

from all treatment appointments and events.
