Does the Assisted Recovery program include any 12-step
components?
The Assisted Recovery program does not include any part of the 12-step model,
also known as the “Minnesota Model of Recovery.” We do not discourage
participation in 12-step meetings; nor do we discourage our clients to include
spiritual values in their process of recovery.
What is cognitive behavioral therapy?
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that focuses
on changing negative thoughts and behaviors to help prevent relapse and enhance
recovery. CBT offers specific techniques to change negative thinking patterns
that can lead to anxiety, depression and relapse.
What are the medications used in the program?
The medications include Naltrexone and Campral, both considered safe, very
effective anti-craving and abstinence-promoting medications, along with Zofran
for the nausea and anxiety associated with detoxification and withdrawal from
alcohol.
Are these medications addictive and can take them
with other medications like anti-depressants or blood pressure medicine?
These medications are not addicting, emotionally or physically and may be
discontinued without adverse effect. These medications are considered safe
to take along with most other medications.
How long do I take these medications?
It is recommended that Naltrexone be taken for a minimum of six months, and
Campral for one year.
Where is the Assisted Recovery program located?
We are located in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona; ten minutes from the Phoenix
Sky Harbor International Airport; and minutes from the SR51, I-10 and I-17
freeways.
Is the program an inpatient or outpatient program?
Assisted Recovery is an intensive outpatient program that includes both one-on-one
counseling and group meetings.
For our out-of-state clients, most stay at one of two extended stay hotels
with weekly rates located within minutes of our office.
How long is the program?
The recommended length of treatment for local residents is one year. For out-of-state
clients attending the Accelerated Program, the recommended stay is two weeks,
with online and toll-free telephone follow-up support for a period of one
year.
Is your program licensed?
Yes. We are licensed by the Arizona
Department of Health Services.
Is your program covered by insurance?
Assisted Recovery does not directly bill for insurance; however, we will provide
itemized documentation for a client to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
What services does the program fee cover?
The program fee includes all professional services, including doctor visits,
all one-on-one counseling, group meetings and follow-up care during the year.
It does not cover the cost of medications.
